The Counterflow CF150 Cellular Drift Eliminators are designed with a discharge angle that is crucial for cooling tower performance, leading to the development of separate designs for crossflow and counterflow towers. Tests confirm that the air direction exiting the cooling tower drift eliminator plays a significant role in system efficiency—flawed designs may increase fan workload, leading to higher fan horsepower requirements or decreased cooling tower performance. The crossflow version is equipped with drainage slots to ensure that trapped drift is directed back to the wet side of the cooling tower.
These drift eliminators require minimal maintenance. If cleaning is necessary, ensure that no physical damage occurs to the PVC eliminator packs. For cleaning loose deposits of silt, fibers, etc., a water spray can be used, keeping the nozzle in constant motion and maintaining water pressure below 30 psi to prevent damage.
